Pupil passports are a great way to compliment your One Page Profiles and are a useful document to support home school links, for children to track their own targets and for them to support their own learning by developing independence. They are also handy when it comes to transitions. In order for children with SEND to fully understand what their next steps are, it is useful to have targets written in child friendly language. This document will also support SEMH as the pupil passport will help individuals feel part of the one planning process. You may wish for all children on your register to have a passport or just individuals (as they are not statutory).
This pupil passport comes with:
- A front page for you to add a logo
- Parental engagement page
- Pupil comment page
- Target pages
- Chart to support describing feelings and a calming breathing exercise
- Space to draw useful strategies for individuals
You can add and take away pages on the powerpoint and depending on your printer settings, you may need to fiddle with the pages so that when it is folded it is an actual booklet.
It may be that you would like a more detailed passport. Further details of things to include can be found in this document: https://nasen.org.uk/uploads/assets/7f6a967f-adc3-4ea9-8668320016bc5595/SENsupportpress.pdf
Hope it is useful!
